cant join modded servers

I've been trying to connect to the 4x4 island server but every time it connects it gets stuck on the first 2-to 5 mods. I've left it for an hour or so and it still made no progress, I've reinstalled both beamng and mp multiple times, and still no luck. i keep getting ERROR in mod manager: invalid zip.
