Beta Ford Engines 2024.01.09

Sorry for the long wait since the last update. This update includes bug fixes/house cleaning and adds 4 engine families consisting of 33 new engines and 96 preset configurations (see details below). I have not yet been able to figure out how to reduce the mod size while keeping the unique engine sounds so sorry in advance for the download size (over 95% of the mod size is from the sound files exported from Automation).

** Please make sure to delete the previous mod file before downloading the updated mod because there have been a lot of file name changes as mentioned in bug fixes and housing cleaning details. **


Bug Fixes and House Cleaning

Spoiler: More Details

• Re-exported all preset configuration icons so they all look the same as BeamNG.Drive's
• Due to the addition of Garage to Garage scenarios, I have created info.json files for all preset configurations so that way the vehicles in this mod will spawn as some of the vehicles you can drive. In order to get this to work, I had to rename all config files previously in this mod (hence the warning at the top).
• I have hopefully fixed the issues with the engines hitting a certain RPM and not revving any higher. This issue happened as a result of running out engine horsepower and torque data inside of the engine's file and then just dropping all the way to 0 HP and 0 lb-ft. Now, all engines should now include a built-in RPM limiter that stops the RPMs where the engine would give out. There shouldn't be a need to use the adjustable rev limiter as the engines should already have one when equipping the engine.
• Due to file name changes from the remastering of the Ibishu Covet in BeamNG.Drive's 0.26 update, I had to redo all engines and configurations previously included this mod (also hence the warning at the top).

  • I realized that when I first made it, the specifications I was looking at were in different units than what I was using in Automation. Now the engine should have correct horsepower and torque numbers. I also was able to get the torque chart to be flatter and closer to the real engine.
